Suicidal Thoughts
Suicide occurs as a result of various issues, but I believe that regardless of your situation, you are worth more alive to your family, friends and loved ones than being dead or taking your own life. While I could bore you with many statistics from research findings, it will not help you to make an informed decision to help you in a time of crisis. With that in mind, I choose to help you identify symptoms and life choices that may have brought you to this thought.
Thoughts become things if not interrupted ... Bishop Rosie S. O'Neal
As you start to reflect on your choices it is not a time to lay blame on yourself, anyone or anything as it is only a catalyst for you to feel a sense of depression, self-demoralization (self-hatred), self-pity and even anxiety about your situation. This is not the result you need or want --instead, it is an opportunity just to reflect in order to understand where you may have gone wrong and to find the right help for your situation. It is most often said that you are able to address a problem when you know the root of the problem. Now that we have an understanding of how we need to identify and look at the problem, let us seek to understand the following:
What is suicide?
Where do suicidal thoughts come from?
Have you sought the help of a qualified professional to assist you to address the problem?
If you have not sought the assistance of a qualified professional, PLEASE STOP!
Sometimes we prefer to go it alone or get our buddies involved because no one would know, you're a private person and don't want anyone in your business, or it would not make us afraid or ashamed. However, if your buddy is dealing with the same problem or in any way compromised, then he/she cannot in good intention help you to get better. Similarly, if your loved ones are trying to help you but they are ill-prepared or not mentally, emotionally, spiritually or psychologically prepared to help you effectively process each phase of the problem, they could become a danger and a hindrance to your recovery and a possible threat to their own well-being. They too could succumb to the stress, anxiety and depression of issues in their own lives that they had never address and it gets triggered while helping you address yours. Now that you understand the importance, please seek the help of a qualified professional. You can move forward to truthfully and carefully process with the proper help.
Have you or can you identify the reason for your suicidal thoughts?
Are you taking accountability for your actions that brought you to the suicidal thought?
What can you do to ensure that those thoughts will not become things?
Are you taking accountability to avoid a relapse?
Please use this resource if you, a friend or loved one is at a crossroad in your life and don't know where to turn.
